Caledonian sleeper
Hey everyone, all 3 or so readers of the site as it currently is, I will be catching the Caledonian sleeper down to London tonight and will give it a review when I get back.

The Caledonian sleeper would be perfect in winter, in the middle of summer it is a hot hot oven. There's a small amount of airflow and you spend your time almost drowning in your own sweat, not a great way to start a day if you don't have access to a shower until check in time at the hotel, 2pm in my case!
The staff are generally helpful, a few rude ones that obviously don't like the idea of spending their nights working, but they did their best to try and accomidate others that had complained about the head. I hadn't bothered as I knew there was little to be done to the 1970's carriages that could cool them. They did however permanently leave the door ways between carriages open to try and create a draft. perfect if you were willing to sleep with the door open at all times. not great due to the bright lights in the corridors.
I won't ever do it again in Summer, but feel a winter trip would be well worth it. beats paying for an extra night hotel in London!
