    Distinct advantage club

Has anyone else bought a distinct advantage club card yet? My friend raves about the savings she's made with hers but just wanted to see what others thought?

I looked at it, and instead of shelling out money up front, the distinct advantage club card costs £24, you're better off getting a Quidco account and then registering your existing Credit card, or debit card, with them as some of the shops offer cash back. Also if you use a rewards credit card something like the Tesco Clubcard Credit Card is still best for 0% spending - 15 months interest free you will also earn reward points (clubcard points etc.) as well.

If you check this link to Quidco:
Quidco - The UK's No.1 Cashback & Voucher Codes Site
you will get £1 just for registering! I don't think you can be paid until you get to £10, but you're 10% of the way there just for registering!

All genuine schemes looking to help people save money are to be encouraged. The discount levels vary and certainly there are many on Distinct Advantage Club that are better than the cash back on Quidco. Also Quidco does keep the first £5 on any cash back each year to off-set admin costs so its not entirely free.

You can still use your Tescos credit card to earn points when making purchases even via Distinct Advantage Club.

Distinct Advantage Club says the average family can save around £1000 per year - Quidco's site says their average is £400.

Perhaps the answer here is to look carefully at both schemes and compare based on your own lifestyle. There perhaps even is a case for using both and maximising the savings using the best saving available on what you are spending.

I haven't had a chance to look into the Distinct Advantage Club as much as I'd like, I can't seem to find a list of all their current participating retailers, which would be handy.

however on the note of loyalty cards, I've been comparing the M&S and Tesco credit cards for spending at Tesco and found the M&S card is better value!

M&S Rewards card better for shopping at Tesco than the Tesco Clubcard Credit Card.

this is only if you plan to pay your credit card off in full each month.
