I tried searching for "EnergyEgg", but kept coming up with some energy saver for the body rather than for appliances, if you've any more info I'd greatly appreciate it.
Regards
Gav.
Has anybody used a device called 'energyegg' which switch off appliances automatically with the help of sensor I guess?

I think if you type treegreen energyegg it will take you to the right product Gav.
It looks like a decent product that can be used for switching off appliances eg: tv, radio etc. automatically when you are not in the room. Basically how it works is by connecting energyegg with the control socket, the egg acts as a motion sensor. And whenever nobody is around there it switches off all the appliances which are connected to the socket.
You can also check their website TreeGreen to know more about their product. The most interesting thing I found is the calculator where you can calculate the amount of money you can save.
