Replacing Hot Water Tank & boiler with a Combi Boiler - How much??

hey fellow savers, I've moved into a house where the previous owners did a lot of very dodgy DIY jobs and I now have to basically replace everything they've done. I'm not going to attempt many of the items they did cheaply so need professional help. About to replace a Baxi Bermuda boiler hot water system with a Worcester Greenstar 28Kw Junior Condensing combi boiler.

I've got a quote for £2000 to do the removal and replacing with new boiler, I've searched around and found the Worcester Greenstar boiler is about £810. Is £1190 about right for the instalation and removal of old boiler?

I have been lucky enough to be approved for the £400 grant on the Scotland Government boiler scrappage scheme, which is great!

the grant went smoothly, got the £400 back today. I got 3 quotes for the boiler one guy was cheaper, but the boiler wasn't on the replacement scheme. After the £400 back I was better off going for the slightly more expensive option.

Always get at least 3 quotes and do some research, do a search for the companies name in google and use words like review, problems, hassels, faults.

so something like "plumber company name review" in google can bring up other peoples views on the company and if they've had problems.

I suggest getting a couple of quotes one from British Gas and one from a local Gas Safe registered boiler engineer. British Gas have great finance options and offer discounts from time to time the last one gave £400 off
