This year, the event Star Wars fans have been waiting five years for has finally happened... George Lucas has released the six films of the Star Wars Saga on crisp and detailed Blu-ray for the first time, in a set bursting with bonus material, and other treats for the fan base.
This epic nine disc set, covers all six films, comprising the original trilogy of Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi, and the prequel trilogy of the Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
As well as being presented in pin sharp 1080p Full HD, each film also offers powerful 6.1 DTS Surround Sound, so it’ll truly give your home cinema system a good workout. Each disc features a commentary from Lucas and key members of cast and crew (including Carrie Fisher for the original trilogy), plus another taken from archive recordings.
Perhaps the most impressive inclusion, though, are the bonus discs, only available in the Complete Saga set. There’s one for each trilogy, packed with deleted, alternate and extended scenes, as well as concept art, creature maquettes, props, interviews with the talent, and much, much more.
The third bonus disc, entitled the Star Wars Documentaries, contains insightful films, including 2007 documentary Star Warriors, as well as various making-ofs focusing on creatures, vehicles, special effects and CGI and a collection of Star Wars spoofs seen on the likes of The Simpsons, Family Guy and other comedy shows.
