After many many laptops (at least 2 x IBM Thinkpads, 2 x Dell, 1 x HP, 1 x Apple and a couple of others) I've found that my Toshiba has been by far the best laptop I've ever owned since my first in 1994. My wife's Toshiba that we got in 2007 is still fantastic, I've been through a Dell and a HP in that time as I use them regularly, heavily and roughly.

The HP didn't even make it a year without trouble and need to be taken back for repair, where as my Toshiba gets put into a non padded backpack and comes with me almost everywhere on and off buses, to photoshoots up hills and down some rather silly slopes and is going strong at 307 days old. The Harddrive is a bit on the smaller size (same as what I currently have, but my laptop's a smaller 10 inch one, however it's no where near full and external hard drives can be cheaper than getting it already in the laptop and lets you back up.) compared to many on the market, also the ram is shared between the video card, but to find a laptop with say 4GB ram and 2GB of dedicated video card you'd be looking at at least a few £100 more! so my judging from stats alone, and previous experience of Toshiba laptops (sadly not the Satellite C660D-181) is it sounds pretty AWESOME!
