I just went to catch the bus in Edinburgh today for the first time in a week and noticed that FirstGroup Buses Welcome to FirstGroup | FirstGroup plc. have put the price up from £1.20 to £1.30, they have however started a new category of ticket, the return ticket at £1.50.
The new £1.50 return is great if you're planning a return trip. However if you're traveling one way then try to find a Lothian bus going the same route as they are still currently £1.20.
3 buses or more in a day then the £3.00 day ticket is by far the best value, both companies offer day tickets but they can only be used on the buses of the company you purchased it from. Lothian Busses Welcome to Lothian Buses generally have more busses and more routes, so it's often best to catch these buses.

the driver said a single is now £1.20 and you can get a return for £2.20, saving of just 20p.
